Synopsis:
The story is about the King who is seduced by a fairly called Vishwamitra who is sent by the God to test the King. The King without any apprehension sacrifices his kingdom for his love of truth. The king endures much hardship including being banished from the kingdom followed by his wife and son to honour his promise to sage Vishwamitra. Though in the end pleased by his morals, the Gods are pleased and restore his former glory and further bestow his with divine blessings and he is known as Satyavadi Raja Harischandra.
