Karan (Sonu Sood), a shy, wealthy student, secretly loves his college friend Sneha (Tanushree Dutta) but never confesses. He introduces her to his flirtatious childhood friend, Vicky (Emraan Hashmi), causing Sneha to fall for Vicky instead. Heartbroken, Karan eventually helps Sneha through her difficult breakup with the unfaithful Vicky, and they later get engaged. However, when Vicky reappears, dark secrets unravel. It is revealed that Karan orchestrated Vicky's infidelity and subsequent arrest out of pure jealousy, secretly harassing Sneha himself to win her affection. Devastated by Karan's betrayal, Sneha rejects him, prompting a suicidal Karan to accidentally shoot and kill the woman Vicky was framed with, Chandni, during a violent struggle. Karan is ultimately arrested for murder, while Sneha reconciles and falls in love with the innocent Vicky.
