In the kingdom of Tamba, a kind Maharaja plans to abolish the monarchy in favor of democracy, angering his ambitious brother, Shamsher Singh. Shamsher plots to kill the Maharaja, who escapes by disguising himself as a servant. Meanwhile, Jai Tilak, a brave local villager, falls in love with the arrogant Princess Rajshree. Shamsher, driven by lust, kidnaps Jai’s childhood friend Mangala, who poisons herself to escape his assault. Seeking revenge, Jai seemingly kills Shamsher and later kidnaps Rajshree to teach her a lesson in humility by making her live as a peasant. As Rajshree begins to admire Jai and peasant life, Shamsher, who survived, returns to exact his revenge, setting the stage for a final confrontation between the proud royalty and the fearless commoner.
