After Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister Ganapathy is murdered, corrupt politician Narayanan seizes power with aide Raghavachari's support. Jobless political science graduate Sudesi returns to his village, but tragedy strikes when his servant's son Ganesh is killed by a teacher who bribes his way out of jail. Sudesi accidentally obtains a handbag containing a CD that reveals Narayanan killing Ganapathy, recorded by Raghavachari for blackmail. When Raghavachari bombs Sudesi's home, Sudesi's mother dies, but he escapes with the CD. Private detective Thilak, hired to retrieve it, instead joins Sudesi after seeing the evidence. Together they kidnap Raghavachari and blackmail Narayanan into becoming an honest politician, transforming Tamil Nadu for the better.
