Dasu, a slum rowdy in Hyderabad, falls in love with a lawyer named Krishnaveni. Initially working for a corrupt politician named Dada, Dasu rebels when Dada tries to frame him for a murder to protect his own son. Inspired to change, Dasu becomes a devoted follower of Gandhi's principles and leads his community against a corporate plan to demolish their slum. Earning massive public support, Dasu becomes a formidable political contender. Dada's own children eventually betray and attempt to kill him, but Dasu steps in to save his former boss's life. Grateful, Dada offers Dasu the local assembly seat, but Dasu humbly declines, giving the position to Sekhar, a genuine community leader.
