Accused of killing his abusive father at age 13, Devarmadom Narayanan serves time in a juvenile home. Upon returning, he becomes the respected leader of Perumalpuram, expelling wrongdoers to maintain peace. His main adversaries are his uncle, Muppil Kunjambu Nair, and Kunjambu's son, Giri, who repeatedly attempt to kill Narayanan, but Narayanan refuses to retaliate.
However, when Giri tries to sell land to outsiders that would destroy the village's harmony, Narayanan finally reacts. It is soon revealed that Kunjambu actually murdered Narayanan's father for his wealth. Narayanan helps Ali Raghavan, Kunjambu's true biological son, claim his birthright.
Discovering he is merely a stepson, an enraged Giri kills Kunjambu. With Narayanan's help, the family drives Giri away. Seeking revenge, Giri battles Narayanan but is soundly defeated. In a surprising turn of events, Giri is unexpectedly killed by another man, Kumaran.
