Devanarayanan, a Brahmin priest from Kerala, is falsely accused of temple theft by corrupt locals who oppose his love for Aswathy. Disowned by his father and forced into exile, Devan moves to Bombay. He soon becomes embroiled in the underworld, serving as the trusted aide to Kareem, an aging crime boss. Devan falls in love with Nirmala, a fellow gang member.

Tensions rise when Kareem’s son secretly romances Sainaba, the daughter of the man sheltering Devan. After a deadly gang war orchestrated by rivals Majeed Khan and Nair leaves Kareem’s family dead, Kareem repents. Devan avenges them but is imprisoned. Upon release, he returns to Kerala with Nirmala and forces his accusers to confess, clearing his name. Tragically, a surviving Majeed Khan and Nair attack his new home. In the ensuing shootout, Devan kills them but loses Nirmala. The film ends with a devastated Devan screaming at the judge who wrongfully imprisoned him.
