Synopsis:
Thamarai (kushboo), daughter of king Periyamalaikozhundhu (vijaykumar) whose marriage is fixed with Mandhiyappan (prakashraj), a neighbour king. However, Nellaiyankondan (jayaram), lover of Thamarai enters and takes her away. She is disowned by the royal family but Thamarai vows that her two sons will marry her brother Chinna Malaikozhundhu's (ponvannan) two daughters. The two sons grow up to be Ponnar, Sankar (prashant) who become brave warriors and are groomed by Mayavar (nasser), a village head. One day, they save the lives of sisters Muthayi (pooja), Pavalayi (divya) and they happen to be the daughter of Chinna Gounder. Their marriage is fixed and flashback is revealed. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
