Synopsis:
Don (Amitabh Bachchan), in an encounter with the police, is wounded and dies in hospital. The police commissioner (Iftekhar), in order to break and capture his gang, sends a look-alike Bhola (Amitabh Bachchan) after polishing him up. He pretends to be Don, who suffers from amnesia and gets control of the gang. As he learns of the secrets of the gang, Roma (Zeenat Aman)a gangmember tries to kill him. He learns that she hates Don who had killed her brother and sister-in-law! Bhola then has to walk the tightrope …saving him from being caught by the gang, the police and from being killed by Roma.

Synopsis:
Hum est l’histoire d’une famille qui vivait dans la pauvreté et travaillait très dure sur les docks pour joindre les deux bouts. Synopsis:
Inspector Ashwini Kumar (Dilip Kumar) is a brave and dedicated police officer. His young son is kidnapped by J.K. (Amrish Puri) and his men. The kidnappers ask Ashwini to release a criminal in exchange for his son. He refuses to compromise, as he holds the law in high esteem. He lets nothing come in the way of his duty, not even his family. Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) hears his father's refusal. In his desparate bid to escape, he is helped by a henchman, K.D. (Kulbhushan Kharbanda).

Vijay grows up to be a bitter and rebellious man. The kidnapping episode and his father's refusal to save his life still prey upon his mind. This causes a great rift between father and son, it becomes wider till both father and son soon find themselves standing on opposite sides of the law. Vijay's mother (Raakhee) gets caught in this cross-fire, torn apart between her love for her errant son and respect for her brave and principled husband. Inspector Ashwini's efforts to bring back his errant son into his fold are in vain. Vijay's mother becomes a victim to J.K.'s bullet.

Vijay is driven to fury and sets out to kill J.K. Ashwini gets wind of Vijay's plans and goes to stop his son. He is unable to stop him from killing J.K. but when Vijay tries to escape from the law, he shoots him down and kills him.

Synopsis:

David D'Costa (Amitabh Bachchan) lives a relatively poor life in Bombay with his wife Mary D'Costa (Jayapradha) who is pregnant. He literally worships the Member of Parliament Chaturvedi (Sadashiv Amrapurkar), and is even willing to die for him. He introduces Mary to Chaturvedi, and with his blessings they name the new-born son James. Then one day while he is busy obstructing rail traffic, he gets arrested and is bailed out by Mahesh (Anupam Kher) When he returns home he finds that Mary has committed suicide. She left a note blaming Chaturvedi for raping her. An upset David goes to confront Chaturvedi, is intercepted by Police Inspector Roop Kumar Sahay (Dalip Tahil) and Dr. Verma (Bharat Kapoor), the evidence is destroyed, and he is sentenced to 20 years in prison for Mary's murder. He asks his friend Mahesh to look after James in his long absence. Twenty years later, David is discharged, he goes to visit Mahesh and is shocked to find that Mahesh has changed, he is no longer a boot-legger, he now lives a wealthy life-style, he wants David to forget the past, and live with his CID Inspector son James, who he has re-named Vijay (also Amitabh Bachchan). David is devastated with this news, but is determined to avenge his wrongful conviction and Mary's death, so he sets about to kill his tormentors one by one - the only obstruction he faces is none other than Vijay who unaware of David being his father is out to protect the 3 people.
