Harpeet 'Happy' Kaur (Diana Penty) is none-too-happy to find that she's expect to wed goon Daman Singh Bagga (Jimmy Shergill) to improve her family's social and financial standing. Being in love with Gurdeep 'Guddu' Singh (Ali Fazal), this strong-willed bride decides to flee.

But a mix-up results in her being knocked unconscious as she lands in a basket aboard a passing flower truck that's heading for Pakistan! The basket is destined for Bilal Ahmed (Abhey Deol). He too has his life planned out for him, with a marriage aimed at facilitating his father's dreams of changing the country's history. Then Happy turns up and everyone's plans are thrown into confusion.
