Akashdeep is movie based on mill worker and industrialist. Shankar (Ashok Kumar) was industrialist and he always run behind the money. Hie younger brother Madhu (Mehmood) lives in a small house with his family. Shankar always wants Madhu to join his business but Madhu is happy running a tea stall. They had a younger sister Roma (Nanda) who fell in love with union leader Tarun (Dharmendra). When Shankar came to know about her love story he rusticate Tarun from mill but in response all the mill workers goes on strike. The climax revolves as how the whole strike resolution takes place.
