Greedy jeweler Aalavandhar commits a murder and frames his worker, Manickam. In revenge, Manickam kidnaps Aalavandhar's son, Ramu. This tragedy scatters their children across different faiths: Ramu is raised by a Muslim doctor as Raheem, while Manickam's daughters grow up as Thangam and Mary. Aalavandhar's remaining son, Rajan, becomes a police officer. Years later, romances bloom: Rajan loves Thangam, while Raheem loves Mary. Unaware of Raheem's true identity, the corrupt Aalavandhar clashes with him over a slum eviction. To secure Mary's inheritance, Aalavandhar disfigures Raheem with acid, frames him, and later tries to burn him alive. Just in time, a newly released Manickam reveals that Raheem is actually Aalavandhar's long-lost son. Horrified, Aalavandhar rescues Raheem, confesses his lifelong crimes to the police, and finally unites the fractured families in religious harmony.
