Virat (Akshay Kumar) is an officer in the Indian Army on his annual leave in Mumbai. Within a few days of his relaxing time back home; in which his marriage plans are made and cancelled and made again with Saiba (Sonakshi Sinha); he brushes across the tip of a terrorist plot while travelling in a bus. Being an inquisitive mastermind and an agent of the Defence Intelligence Agency, he grabs hold of the culprit behind the solitary blast in a bus, and extracts information by his own methods and means. Chipping together the clues and links he gets, he soils the plot of the sleeper cells organisation of creating mayhem in the bustling city of Mumbai, and in the process, enrages and challenges the head of the organisation to a battle of wits. What follows is a game of brains and brawn between the head and Virat, where lives are put a stake and lost, the city is put under threat and Virat, putting all he has at stake, has to take up the mantle to stop this mess once and for all and ensure a peaceful life for the citizens of our country.
