Encouraged by his father, a former police officer, Singamalai joins the police force and is posted in Narayanapuram, where he falls in love with Divya. This town has not held elections for twenty years due to Baji Rao, a dangerous local gangster. He systematically murders candidates to prevent a minority community from gaining power.
When the Election Commission finally steps in to enforce the polls, Baji attempts to assassinate its chairman. Singamalai's father intervenes and gets brutally beaten up. In retaliation, Singamalai confronts the criminal, arrests him, and earns a promotion.
However, from his prison cell, Baji orchestrates an attack and blows up Singamalai's father's car, killing him instantly. The film culminates in Inspector Singamalai's relentless quest for revenge, as he is determined to hunt down Baji and his henchmen to avenge his father's death and restore justice.
