Synopsis:
Ore Kadal:
Dr. S.R. Nathan is an internationally acclaimed economist; someone akin to Dr. Amartya Sen. Nathan is a thinker. His entire being is focused on fiscal and economic matters and developments. Though an intellectual of the top order, Nathan is a loner and an alcoholic to boot. He is careless about the way he dresses, and often appears shabby and disheveled. It is by the oddest of circumstances that Deepthi meets Nathan. In course of time they learn that they are on the same wavelength. Both have anchored their lives in the middle of a turbulent sea.
Time:
Appan Menon is an outstanding IPS officer with a doctorate in criminology. But when a new government comes to power, he is shuttled off as the MD of the Civil Supplies Corporation. Under certain special circumstances however, the Chief Minister himself puts him in charge of a special investigation to unravel the mystery behind the murder Minister Krishnan Nambiar. Vaiga is the girl Appan loved from childhood and eventually marries. Wherever he goes to fulfill his duties, Appan always calls Vaiga, and she is always there to answer the call. But one day when he puts through his regular call, there is no one to pick up the phone at the other end. What has befallen Vaiga?
Panthaya Kozhi:
"Panthaya Kozhi" tells the story of a young man thrown into a situation beyond his control. The tale is embellished with all masala ingredients like songs, dances, comedy and action. It begins with the journey of Nandu (Narein) to Kalimuthupalayam, a village in Tamil Nadu, where he is sent by his cruel uncle (Janaradhanan) to sell off a property that he claims to have purchased for his nephew and niece. As the plot progresses, the mystery behind the piece of land unfolds. The story and the screenplay are packed with predictable scenes and situations. Nandu falls in love with local girl Chembakam (Pooja), the event being preceded by the inevitable comic track and the mandatory hero-heroine fights over silly matters. Seasoned comedian Cochin Haneefa adds no freshness to the tale. Then a villain sprouts in the form of a local political leader who has some old scores to settle with the hero's deceased father, leading to - surprise, surprise - a gory climax.
