Synopsis:
Maha Sati Savitri, the story of some of the greatest woman, India has given birth to . The women who are today worshipped as goddesses by everyone. The women who have made great sacrifices for protecting their family. The story of Sukanya and Savitri the epitome of womanhood. The daughters of King Sharyati and King Ashvapati. Lord Narad advised King Ashvapati to let Savitri choose her husband and Sukanya wanted to join Savitri in this search but her father prevented her.

Savitri started her journey in quest for her life partner and one day she met handsome Satyavan, a virtuous woodcutter in a jungle and decided to marry him. At the same time Sukanya married the old Chyavan Rishi to atone for her sins. She had made him blind accidentally. She made great sacrifice with single-minded devotion and care. Lord Ashwini Kumar was very pleased with this dedication and restored Chyavan Rishi's sight and also made him handsome.

Here in the jungle Savitri decided to marry Satyavan inspite of knowing that he was not going to live for more than one year. She became the ideal housewife, looked after her aged parents-in-law and also found enough time for worshipping the dieties regularly. After a difference of opinion with Lord Sharad and Yamraj on life and death and Savitri's devotion, Yamraj decided to put the hurdles in her path and finally one day her husband was bit by a cobra planed by Yamraj.
